Texans Worked Out Former Patriots RB

The Houston Texans added a prime reinforcement to their running back room this offseason.

They signed Nick Chubb to take some pressure off Joe Mixon.

However, it seems like they’re not done making moves.

According to a report by Aaron Wilson of KPRC2, the Texans worked out former New England Patriots RB JaMycal Hasty.

Hasty has also played for the San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars, amassing 479 rushing yards and four touchdowns in his NFL career.

The Texans have been to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons, and this era, spearheaded by head coach DeMeco Ryans, quarterback C.J. Stroud and defensive end Will Anderson Jr., is promising.

Then again, the AFC is highly competitive, and as such, they can’t afford to fall behind.

Their running game has been a bit of an issue for the past couple of seasons, with Dameon Pierce struggling after a promising rookie season.

Mixon was an upgrade last season, but the offensive line failed to live up to expectations and didn’t create many lanes for the running game.

Now, with Chubb also in the mix, they could have one of the most entertaining one-two punches in the AFC South, provided that he can stay healthy and on the field.

Hasty isn’t much of a bruiser, but he’s a speedy back who can be a factor in the passing game if they sign him.
