It's the time of new beginnings in the NFL. And also new looks.
Last year it was Cincinnati Bengals' quarterback Joe Burrow's blonde hair that caught the attention of fans of media. This week it was Aaron Rodgers, showing up as a new member of the Pittsburgh Steelers relatively clean shave and ... married!
Now comes a jarring new look by Kansas City Chiefs' star tight end Travis Kelce, who has ditched his shaved head for a lavish hair style. Knowing their long-term relationship and her influence, you have to believe that Kelce's girlfriend Taylor Swift at least approved of the change if not altogether suggested it.
Like the new style or not, most men have to be impressed - i.e. jealous - that a 35-year-old can grow that much hair on demand. It was just last season that Kelce played with shaved noggin.
The new 'do was spotted last weekend at Kelce's cousin's wedding in Tennessee that he attended with Swift.
Who knows? Maybe Kelce will show up for Chiefs' training camp in six weeks with his flowing locks chopped off to beat the Summer heat.
Or maybe, coming off one of his least productive seasons and being a non-factor in the Super Bowl LIX loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce is trying to revive his effectiveness with the bold new look. He's also reportedly dropped 20 pounds.
