Barca reject Monaco’s loan offer for Ansu Fati

Ansu Fati’s proposed move from Barcelona to Monaco seems to have taken a fresh twist, with the Catalans having rejected an offer from the Ligue 1 club.

According to Marca, Barcelona were hoping to sell Ansu this summer but Monaco only proposed an initial loan.

The Ligue 1 club also don’t want to pay Fati’s full salary during the loan which means Barcelona have turned it down.

The Catalan giants don’t want to be paying a significant part of a player’s salary who is not at the club and playing his football elsewhere.

It’s not clear what happens next and whether Monaco will continue their interest and try another offer.

Previous reports had claimed an agreement between the two clubs had been close, but the latest update suggests this deal is far from done and isn’t guaranteed to go through.

Yet Fati will be more than aware he needs to move this summer. The 22-year-old forward only managed 270 minutes last season and badly needs to play regularly.
