New England Patriots Announce Major Honor for Former QB Tom Brady

It was only a matter of time, but the New England Patriots ended the suspense today: Legendary Quarterback Tom Brady will be enshrined in a statue outside Gillette Stadium.

This comes on the heels of the retirement of Brady's No. 12 before the 2024 season. In a fitting move, the bronze statue will be 12 feet tall. The statue will be completed this summer and unveiled on August 8, prior to the team's preseason game with the Washington Commanders. This is likely due to Brady's availability during the season, when he works every Sunday as a color analyst for Fox Sports.

The Patriots announced the statue on Thursday via a hype video on X.

Brady is widely considered to be the greatest quarterback in NFL history. During his time in the NFL, he won seven Super Bowls, six with New England. In his 23 years with the Patriots and later with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady threw for nearly 90,000 yards and 212 touchdowns. He also orchestrated the greatest Super Bowl comeback of all time, leading the Patriots back from a 28-3 deficit against the Atlanta Falcons in 2019.

There is little question that Tom Brady will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he becomes eligible in 2028.
