Since Manchester United’s 2-1 in the Manchester derby back in December, it has been clear that there is no future for Marcus Rashford at Manchester United.
The Wythenshawe born winger has had an unhealthy relationship with manager Ruben Amorim since the Portuguese man arrived at Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim has publicly commented on Rashford’s attitude and chose to omit him from the squad in December’s 2-1 Manchester derby win over City.
Marcus Rashford had an exceptional season back in 2022/23, scoring 30 goals across all competitions for the Reds, winning the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award.
However since then, Rashford has declined some what in a United shirt and with current manager Ruben Amorim unhappy with the Englishman’s attitude, his United future seems to have come to an end.
Amorim sent Rashford out on loan to Champions League fighting, Aston Villa, and the Reds were hoping the Villains would activate Rashford’s loan clause of £40 million. This wasn’t the case and Rashford has returned to Old Trafford.

It is apparent that there is no resolution for Rashford at Old Trafford and European clubs are beginning to become interested in the forward.
However, the lucrative 5-year deal Rashford signed in 2023 seen him pick up a wage packet of £325,000 a week. Clubs around Europe are unwilling to match his United wages and therefore the Reds are struggling to part-ways with Rashford.
There has been lots of interest from Spanish giants Barcelona in recent weeks and the league champions are hoping to sign Rashford.
However, GiveMeSport reports that Barcelona are planning to only enter discussions in the latter stages of the summer transfer window.
This is a major setback for Manchester United as it is not a permanent deal Barcelona are looking for.
They would rather secure Rashford on loan if they have scope to do business at the end of the window.
GiveMeSport’s report also states that Barcelona are adamant Rashford is desperate to join them, that he will not commit his future to any other suitors.
That is in case the chance to work with Hansi Flick in Spain eventually arises.
Ultimately, this leaves an uncertainty for United, with no guarantee that Rashford will be out the door by the end of the window.
