14-goal Wolves target now named best gem in his league in big message to Vitor Pereira

Wolves fans are ready to see some incomings now – and one target’s brilliance has just been further underlined.

It has been a busy start to the summer for Wolves, but all the activity so far has related to people leaving.

Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri have been sold, and a few other players could follow them out the door.

Pablo Sarabia and Craig Dawson are leaving as free agents and potentially Nelson Semedo could also leave for nothing, despite him having a contract offer on the table from Wolves.

Wolves want to sign a new striker this summer, in order to give Jorgen Strand Larsen some cover and competition.

With Cunha gone, a lot of goals have gone out of the team.

But in Lucas Stassin, Wolves might just find a brilliant player this summer.

It was reported last week that Wolves are interested in Saint-Etienne striker Lucas Stassin this summer.

Stassin hit 14 goals across all competitions, and his efforts have now led to interest from several sides.

His efforts have also led to him being acknowledged in the form of an award.

Stassin has won Ligue 1’s ‘La Pépite De La Saison’, which is essentially the award presented to the best young gem, or best young player of the season. This was voted for by fans who watch the league.

It is bound to draw further attention to him, with Stassin clearly a player with exciting ability and potential.

Vitor Pereira could hand Strand Larsen competition with Stassin

Wolves undoubtedly need another centre-forward this summer, as it looks like Fabio Silva will leave the club permanently.

Sasa Kalajdzic could also leave Wolves on loan, having hinted he may need a less intense league to make his comeback in.

With the futures of Hwang Hee-chan and Goncalo Guedes uncertain, Pereira needs extra firepower – and Stassin looks a real talent.

Appearances – 34

Minutes played – 2312

Goals – 14

Assists – 8

With 14 goals and eight assists in 34 appearances last term, the Belgian is clearly a player who makes things happen in the final third.

He is still only 20. But he does share traits with Strand Larsen and we’ve all seen his adaptation in English football and how good he looks under Pereira.

Interest in Stassin is high, but hopefully Wolves can sell their project to the player.

Certainly, as a young player with high potential, he fits the kind of player Wolves tend to go for these days.
