Lakers forward Dorian Finney-Smith underwent surgery to fix a lingering left ankle injury and is expected to be ready for training camp ahead of the 2025-26 season.
Los Angeles Lakers forward Dorian Finney-Smith recently underwent surgery on his left ankle, a move aimed at finally addressing a lingering injury that has troubled him for several seasons, per ESPN.
The 32-year-old is expected to be ready and pain-free in time for training camp ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.
Finney-Smith battled through the ankle issues while contributing significantly for the Lakers last season.
After being traded from the Brooklyn Nets in late December, he missed a total of 20 games due to “left ankle injury management,” but still played a key role in helping Los Angeles secure the No. 3 seed in the competitive Western Conference.
The Lakers posted a strong 29-14 record in games he appeared in and went 14-6 when he started.
Over the season, Finney-Smith averaged 7.9 points on 44.2% shooting overall, including an impressive 39.8% from beyond the arc, along with 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.
