Liverpool’s First Team Physiotherapist Steve Lilley has left the club to take up a full-time role with the England men’s team.
Lilley, who joined the Reds from Manchester City in February 2020, had been working as the England Senior Team Physiotherapist part-time since August 2024 and will now do the job permanently.
He arrived at Anfield five-and-a-half years ago after nearly nine years at the Etihad Stadium.
Lilley’s career started in rugby when he was a Physiotherapist with union club Leeds Tykes and also did an internship with league club Leeds Rhinos.
His first move into football came when he became First Team Physiotherapist at Norwich City in June 2008. He spent two seasons at Carrow Road and then, after a year out of the game, he joined Manchester City.
He spent his first two years at the club as the EDS Team Physiotherapist before becoming First Team Physiotherapist in June 2013.
