Everton ended the 2024/25 season on a high note following the January return of David Moyes as manager, losing just four of their final 18 Premier League matches under the Scotsman.
The impressive turnaround not only secured their top-flight status but also sparked renewed optimism ahead of a landmark moment in the club’s history — their move to the new 52,888-seater Everton Stadium this summer.
Still, Moyes will be keen to strengthen his squad in the transfer window, particularly in the final third.

While Everton were solid defensively — thanks in part to standout performances from James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite — they struggled to consistently find the net. No player hit double digits in the league.
Iliman Ndiaye ended the campaign as their top scorer with nine, while Beto chipped in with eight — five of which came during a hot streak in February.

One man the Toffees hope can boost their creative output next season is Manchester City star Jack Grealish.
City’s record signing, Grealish has been left out of the squad for this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup and is widely expected to leave the Etihad — either on loan or in a permanent deal.
According to Football Insider, Everton and Newcastle United are currently leading the race for the England international, who is eager to find more regular football after starting just 16 matches across all competitions last season.
Grealish hopes a move away from City will reignite his form in the final third and help re-establish him in the England setup, having fallen out of favour in recent years.
Though the past two seasons have been stop-start, there’s no doubting Grealish’s ability. Even Pep Guardiola has publicly praised the winger’s qualities.
“He is so dangerous close to the box,” Guardiola said once. On another occasion, he hailed Grealish for his fighting spirit, saying: “Jack has the sense of the street, a player from the street. Most of the players, for our fault – the manager – are so academic. Jack is one of those players that came to fight in these stadiums when the people shout; he is a fighter.”
Should Everton manage to get the deal done, it could prove to be one of the most exciting transfers of the summer.
