Barcelona defender Gerard Martin has dismissed talk he could leave the club this summer and head to the Premier League.
The left-back has reportedly attracted interest from Wolves after a season where he played 42 times in all competitions for Hansi Flick’s side.
Martin has now been quizzed on his future, after dropping out of Spain Under-21 duty with a hand injury, and says he’s not thinking about going anywhere.
“These are things that come up. In the end, I don’t take any notice, I’m focused on Barça and the truth is that I’m happy with my season,” he told Jijantes.
“I think the coaching staff are also happy with me, with my progress and what I still have to improve. The truth is that I don’t think about anything other than Barça. I am calm.”
The defender signed a new contract at Barcelona until 2028 in January and his comments suggest he’s not going to move on this summer.
He may face more competition for a place next season though, with Jofre Torrents very much in Barca’s thoughts for the future.
