OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Celebrations for the 75th Anniversary of the College World Series aren’t just happening around Charles Schwab Field.
If you walk a few blocks up from baseball village to the Kiewit Luminarium, you’ll find an out-of-this-world exhibit that’s just in Omaha through the weekend.
NASA’s Glenn Research Center in Cleveland is bringing all things space to The Greatest Show On Dirt.
A few blocks from Baseball Village, CWS goers can check out the NASA exhibit near the Luminarium.
There are interactive exhibits that put you in the shoes of astronauts. This includes a display of an actual moon rock from the Apollo 17 landing.
Omaha native Brandon Lloyd is a flight director working in Houston for mission control. He will be on hand throughout the duration of the exhibit.
He said his dream of working for NASA started in the seventh grade.
“Right out of college, I got the opportunity to go and join flight operations in Houston and I’ve been there ever since,” Lloyd said. “Every day is a little bit different, so I’m making lots of different memories.”
The exhibit is set up on The Riverfront and is free to visit. It will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through Sunday, June 15.
