Big Kevin Durant News Emerges After Phoenix Suns Trade Report

As the NBA heads into the offseason, everyone around the league has their eyes on the Phoenix Suns and especially their future Hall of Fame forward Kevin Durant.

Durant is expected to be moved this summer after the Suns put together another disappointing season that saw them miss the playoffs for the first time since the 2019-20 season.

Of course, the Suns surprisingly listed to trade offers for Durant at the trade deadline, though they elected to keep him.

That is not expected to be the case this summer though as multiple reports have leaned toward Durant being traded before the NBA Draft on June 25.

On Thursday, two major reports came out regarding a potential Durant trade this offseason.

According to Suns insider John Gambadoro, Durant is expected to be traded sometime next week, which will be the week before the 2025 draft.

This does not come as a surprise as the Suns are clearly trying to land another first-round pick in the upcoming draft since their own pick went to the Houston Rockets due to a prior trade.

Another report by Grant Afseth of RG Media also came out as he reported that doubt is growing that the San Antonio Spurs will make a deal for Durant in the coming weeks.

This is a massive report by Afseth as many have reported that the Spurs are very interested in pairing Durant next to Victor Wembanyama this summer.

With this report, it leaves the New York Knicks, Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat as the main teams who have been linked to a potential Durant trade, though more teams could end up joining the sweepstakes.

Of course, the Spurs’ report could also be a smokescreen as they have emerged as one of the favorites to land the star forward.

Either way, it appears that Durant will be on a new team in the coming weeks as the Suns begin their rebuild.
