76ers Would Land Kevin Durant in Blockbuster NBA Trade Idea

Paul George's first NBA season with the Philadelphia 76ers wasn't the best. The 76ers finished outside of the top eight teams with a 24-58 record and did not qualify for the playoffs. Although injuries are to blame for their abysmal campaign, there have been trade rumors hinting at a potential trade for George.

One player linked to Philly has been Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant. NBA analyst Kevin O'Connor proposed a trade idea on his show, "The Kevin O'Connor Show," that would lead the 76ers to land the two-time champion.

The trade proposal will also allow the organization to dump George and his four-year, $212 million maximum contract.

O'Connor proposed that the 76ers should trade George, along with two future first-round picks, for KD.

"Simple, clean, flip Paul George to Phoenix with two future firsts to get Kevin Durant back," O'Connor said. "It's a clear upgrade for the Sixers."

The analyst explained that his trade proposal will work well with both teams. The Sixers will still be a title contender, and they get to keep the No. 3 pick of the 2025 draft.

Phoenix, on the other hand, could keep George for a while and help him bounce back from his disappointing 2024-25 season. This would allow the Suns to either keep him for the long run or trade him for future picks. Fortunately for the 76ers, there's good news regarding KD's future with his current team.

On Thursday, NBA insider John Gambadoro hinted at the Suns' plan with Durant this summer. According to the analyst, he expects the organization to trade KD next week.

"I expect that Kevin Durant will be traded from the Phoenix Suns next week," Gambadoro said on his show, "The Burns & Gambo Show".

It might be time for the 76ers to fix up a potential trade next week for the 15-time All-Star.
