Report: TFG now eyeing blockbuster move for Premier League 'superstar' at Everton

Everton’s search for a new number nine this summer has already taken a few knocks in the early stages of the window.

David Moyes will be desperate to see his attacking options bolstered before the new season kicks off in August.

Although Everton were able to pull away from the relegation battle under the Scot, there are still some uncertainties going forward.

The Toffees have already secured the permanent signing of Carlos Alcaraz but Everton’s main priority is landing a new striker.

However, there have been a number of stumbling blocks already with Liam Delap snubbing Everton to join Chelsea.

With their targets already dwindling, Everton could be about to check back in with one of their targets from the January transfer window.

Everton considering fresh swoop for Evan Ferguson

When Moyes arrived in January, Everton were showing an interest in Evan Ferguson, but the young striker joined West Ham United on loan.

It was not a loan which favoured the Ireland international who is now looking to kickstart his career away from Brighton & Hove Albion.

According to the Irish Times, the Seagulls are now open to the notion of selling Ferguson permanently this summer.

This comes with Everton once again showing an interest in the 20-year-old striker.

Ferguson has endured some real struggles on the pitch over recent months and is now looking for the right opportunity to get his career back on track.

West Ham are not expected to re-sign Ferguson and his time on the south coast is now expected to come to an end this summer.

The question is whether Ferguson could shine on Merseyside or whether he would unfortunately replicate a move like Armando Broja’s from Chelsea.

Everton need to add a dominant centre-forward

It looks as if Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be leaving Everton this month as he still has not signed a new deal.

This only adds pressure in addressing Everton’s squad depth ahead of the new term.

But the Blues are also in need of adding a quality striker who can provide a consistent stream of goals for the Toffees.

Richarlison could now stay at Tottenham Hotspur following the appointment of Thomas Frank, which is another blow to Everton’s plans.

And fans will have major doubts over Ferguson with the youngster really struggling to reach the heights he showed in the early stages of his career with Brighton.

Micah Richards previously hailed Ferguson a ‘superstar’ on Match of the Day, but he’s still got a lot to prove after some struggles.

Although there is a project going on at the Hill Dickinson Stadium under the Friedkins, it feels like Everton need an accomplished striker to lead the club forward now.
