Everton could be set to capitalise on Jack Grealish’s growing frustrations at Manchester City.

Grealish is increasingly looking like a shadow of his former self in the North East.

The former Villa captain only clocked 715 minutes in the Premier League this season and was left out of the squad entirely for City’s final league fixture against Fulham.

Everton, who are looking to consolidate David Moyes‘ excellent work since he returned to the Toffees, require significant attacking reinforcements after only scoring 42 goals this season.

Everton are interested in signing Grealish

As reported by the Daily Mail (11 June), Everton are keen to sign Grealish, who has been left out of Manchester City’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup this summer.

Moyes’ influence could convince Grealish to join Everton.

And ex-Goodison scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – believes Grealish’s desperation to leave City, and Moyes’ welcoming nature, could make a move possible.

“Grealish wouldn’t be the first player to move from Manchester to Everton,” King said.

“I think Grealish is desperate to leave Manchester City and desperate to be wanted again. If he went to Everton, he’d get the perfect manager who could bring him back to a high standard.

“Moyes could give him the confidence by starting him and giving him that arm around the shoulder. I think that is what Grealish needs at the moment.

“I’d like to see him back to the standard of what he was at Villa. I think Grealish would be a very positive signing for Everton. It would show that they’re ready to compete with the big boys. Why wouldn’t Grealish accept a move to Everton? He will get regular football, which wouldn’t do him any harm at all.”

Grealish would bring stardust to Everton

Financial constraints, in tandem with former manager Sean Dyche’s style of play, have left the Everton squad with generally hard-working but technically limited players compared to the rest of the league.

Iliman Ndiaye has carried the burden of creator-in-chief, with the Toffees desperately lacking other top-quality attacking players.

Grealish has an abundance of skill and technical qualities. Therefore, should Moyes successfully return the England World Cup hopeful to his past level, he could bring the element of stardust that the Toffees are desperately lacking.
