Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres has broken his silence with a cryptic message on social media.
The Sporting CP star has been one of the most prolific strikers on the planet over the last two seasons. He has been incredible, and several clubs are keeping an eye on him.
The expectation has been that Gyokeres will leave the Portuguese champions this summer for a bigger club in Europe.
Arsenal tabled a bid to sign Gyokeres on Thursday, but that offer did not meet Sporting’s demands. Now, the striker has had his say.
Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres shares cryptic message amid drama with Sporting CP
Sporting CP and Viktor Gyokeres are involved in a heated battle.
The striker and his camp claim that they had a gentleman’s agreement over a transfer for a reasonable fee this summer, and they expected that promise to be upheld.
However, Sporting have come out and claimed that there is no such agreement, and it will be them who will decide the transfer fee.
Fabrizio Romano has cleared the air by saying that Gyokeres’ gentleman’s agreement was with Hugo Viana when he was the director of Sporting, but he has since left for Manchester City.
Now, Sporting are no longer acknowledging that agreement.
The Sweden international is clearly not happy with his situation now, and after reports about Arsenal’s bid to sign him, he posted a message on his Instagram Story.
“There is a lot of talk at the moment, most of it is false. I will speak when the time is right,” he wrote.

What else has Viktor Gyokeres done on Instagram?
Gyokeres, like most players these days, is fairly active on Instagram.
The Sweden international has posted several pictures and videos of himself at Sporting CP over the last two years, including one with a trophy.
However, once the issues between himself and the Sporting hierarchy surfaced, Gyokeres decided to remove his association with the club on social media.
The striker is not calling himself a Sporting CP player anymore on Instagram. That is further proof that he wants to leave the club as soon as possible.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal can get a deal done for him in the coming days.
