Trent Alexander-Arnold has issued a clear message after being confirmed as a Real Madrid player following his Liverpool exit. The former Reds vice-captain completed a permanent move to the La Liga giants earlier this month after months of speculation.

Liverpool agreed a deal with Madrid that saw Alexander-Arnold move to the Santiago Bernabeu before his contract at Anfield was set to expire at the end of June. A £10million deal was agreed between the two clubs which has allowed the 26-year-old to move to Madrid early ahead of their participation at the FIFA Club World Cup.

It was on Thursday that Alexander-Arnold was presented to the media as a new player for Real Madrid.

Hours later, Alexander-Arnold took to social media to issue another message after being confirmed as a new signing for Real Madrid.

The Liverpool academy graduate wrote: "Family is everything," in a post on Instagram accompanied by photos of himself and members of his family while wearing a Real Madrid kit.

The post received more than 1.8 million likes on Instagram, including several from current Liverpool stars including Federico Chiesa, Andy Robertson, Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Luis Diaz and Tyler Morton.

Former Reds teammates Roberto Firmino, Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana also liked the post by Alexander-Arnold.

Henderson, who spent several years as a teammate of Alexander-Arnold's at Anfield, left a red love heart emoji in a comment on the post.

Jude Bellingham, who will now play alongside Alexander-Arnold at Madrid, left a white love heart emoji as his comment on the post.

Alexander-Arnold's first match since leaving Liverpool to become a Real Madrid player could come on June 18, when the Spanish outfit face Al-Hilal in the group stage of the FIFA Club World Cup.
