Bucky Irving Said The Bucs Offense Is About Trust
June 13th, 2025
No learning curve this year.
Stats are nice but Bucs running back Bucky Irving believes the Bucs offense has something deeper to lean on.
The Bucs bring back 11 starters from the No. 3 overall offense last year. Pretty impressive, especially when you factor in two of the biggest contributors were rookies.
Speaking after practice yesterday, Bucky mentioned it isn’t just the numbers everyone produced on the Bucs offense last year that makes the offense stout. No, Bucky said, it’s deeper than that.
“We have all [those] guys returning but just being able to have trust in those guys,” Bucky said. “Like you always say, when I come up here [to the Bucs’ interview stage], I don’t talk about myself.
“I talk about the O-line because without those guys, none of these things are possible so just being able to give credit to those guys every chance that I get, I’m going to do that.”
And this season, Bucky doesn’t have to learn how to read or how to run or even coordinator his style with a new linemen’s style of blocking. The “trust” Bucky speaks of is that he knows how his linemen will block and their tendencies.
Likewise, the linemen will know how to block for Bucky. Each running back is different.
With no learning curve because everyone on the Bucs’ offense trusts one another, the offense ought to have fresh grease on its wheels this fall.
