According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the medical for Florian Wirtz transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool FC will only take place next week, as the player is currently on holiday.
Bayer 04 Leverkusen expect Florian #Wirtz’s move to FC Liverpool to be finalised next week – including the medical, which is scheduled to take place next week at the latest.

Of course, it was Pletti who got dragged by Florian Wirtz himself on Instagram for reporting that the player wanted the number 10 shirt, currently held by Alexis Mac Allister, so let’s also turn to another German reporter for confirmation.
Speaking on his appearance on CBS Golazo on Wednesday, journalist Rafa Honigstein had this to say:
“Florian Wirtz is on holiday but he will join Liverpool. There is going to be a slight difference in reporting, Liverpool sources will say the deal is cheaper, Leverkusen will say it’s more expensive.”
Seems pretty settled then. Take a break from the computer, the phone and Twitter or Bluesky this weekend and stop hovering your finger over the F5. We’ll see you next week, Florian.
