Arne Slot believes 'unstoppable' player could have a massive future at Liverpool despite rumours he's leaving

Arne Slot is seemingly gearing Liverpool up for a massive summer of additions, with many personnel changes already occurring.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Caoimhin Kelleher are the first two players to have exited Anfield this summer, with the former going to Real Madrid and the latter finally becoming a first-team goalkeeper at Brentford.

Indeed, while these changes are already significant for Liverpool, others, such as Jarell Quansah and Harvey Elliott, have also been linked with moves away, following reports that the transfer of Florian Wirtz will cost over £100million.

So far, many of the Reds’ first-team players have been linked with Anfield exits, but there’s one in particular who fans seem to have mixed feelings about going into the 2025-26 season.

Arne Slot believes Federico Chiesa still has a lot to offer Liverpool

Federico Chiesa has instantly become a fan favourite at Liverpool since his transfer last summer.

The Italian’s song has become synonymous with the Reds’ Premier League title win, and even though Slot didn’t play him all that much, it seems like he believes the former Juventus man has plenty to offer.

That is, according to a report from TEAMtalk, who have shared that sources close to the Dutchman believe Chiesa still has a ‘big role’ to play next term.

Many ‘rumours’ have been shared regarding his future, with teams such as Real Betis and Napoli getting linked with an interest this summer.

Liverpool should keep Federico Chiesa around and sell Darwin Nunez

A decent number of Liverpool’s attackers have performed well below par this season.

In fact, if Mohamed Salah didn’t have the best season of his career, where he managed to contribute to 57 goals across all competitions, then it’s hard to see how the Reds would have finished at the top of the Premier League.

The 2024-25 season of Mohamed Salah in numbers.

Darwin Nunez is one of those Liverpool forwards who failed to have as much of an impact on the season as most would have expected.

The Uruguay international has been a Liverpool player for the past three seasons, and while there have been times when his class has oozed through, his inconsistency has left a lot to be desired.

Indeed, some may say that Chiesa didn’t have the best of campaigns either, but the fact that he only started four games all season shows how little of a chance he had to prove himself.

Prior to his knee injury, the Italy international was one of the most sought-after players in the world, with Giorgio Chiellini even calling him “unstoppable.”

So, not only does this show that there’s plenty of talent within him, but if Slot chooses to give him more of a chance next season, he could become a very important player, especially with his keen eye for goal.
