Bryan Mbeumo transfer to Old Trafford could lead to‘dynamic’position change for key Man Utd ace under Ruben Amorim

Ruben Amorim is a ‘huge fan’ of one key Manchester United player and would keep him at Old Trafford even if the Red Devils sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

Bryan Mbeumo has been linked with Manchester United and Ruben Amorim is believed to be keen on signing the 25-year-old French-born winger.

The Cameroon international is tipped to leave Brentford this summer and the Bees star impressed under Thomas Frank in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

Mbeumo, who is under contract with Brentford until 2026, netted an impressive 20 times in the Premier League in 38 league matches for his current side.

However, Tottenham are believed to be interested in the Cameroon winger as well and Spurs could rival United for a move for Brentford ace Mbeumo this summer.

Spurs received a major boost in their pursuit of Mbeumo after Tottenham appointed Thomas Frank as their new manager following Ange Postecoglou’s sacking.

Ruben Amorim’s position on Mason Mount at Old Trafford if Man Utd complete a transfer for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United have tabled a £45m bid and a further £10m in add-ons in their pursuit of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo in the summer transfer window.

However, Brentford have dismissed United’s first approach and the Bees are believed to be holding out for a fee of around £60m from the Red Devils for Mbeumo.

According to TEAMtalk, Ruben Amorim still has faith in Mason Mount and the United manager wants to keep the former Chelsea ace at Old Trafford this summer.

The publication reports that Amorim is a ‘huge fan’ of Mason Mount and the former Three Lions star can offer him a ‘unique dimension’ to his United first-team squad.

What Ruben Amorim would do with Mason Mount at Man Utd if Bryan Mbeumo makes the Old Trafford switch from Brentford

Mason Mount’s spell at Old Trafford has been curtailed by injuries and the 26-year-old former England international’s first-team appearances have been limited.

United signed Mount in 2023 when Erik ten Hag was in charge at Old Trafford and the Red Devils paid a hefty initial fee of £55m to sign him from rivals Chelsea.

TEAMtalk added that Mount shares a ‘strong professional bond’ with Amorim and is ‘eager to continue working’ under the 40-year-old United boss in the near future.

According to the outlet, Amorim admires the current United No 7 shirt holder for his work rate, technical ability and the versatility that he offers to his side.

It is believed that United’s signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves and their pursuit of Mbeumo has Amorim exploring different possibilities with Mount.

According to TEAMtalk, Mount could see himself playing as a ‘dynamic No 8 or attacking midfielder’ under Amorim, who ‘still sees a role’ for the player in his team.
