Sharman-Lowe, 22, spent last season with Doncaster Rovers and helped them win promotion from League Two under the guidance of Grant McCann. He made 51 appearances in all competitions for the Yorkshire club, 46 of which came in the league.

In this latest update regarding his future, journalist O’Rourke has reported on X that he is set to join the Trotters. They missed out on the play-offs in the last campaign.

McCann heaped praise on Sharman-Lowe back in April and said, as per the Yorkshire Post: “Teddy has been exceptional and got better every game and you have to remember this is his first loan in the EFL and he has produced two magnificent saves.

“But I felt the energy in the stadium that it was going to be our day. I couldn’t be more happy for teddy as he’s a young lad. He’s made one or two mistakes this year and we didn’t bring him out and replace him as we trusted his ability. He’s had a tremendous season and will benefit so much.”

The Leicester-born man played for Leicester City up until 2017. He then linked up with Chelsea and has since risen up through the ranks at Stamford Bridge.

He is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Premier League giants. However, he has gained experience on loan at Burton Albion and Bromley, as well as Doncaster Rovers.

What now for Bolton Wanderers?

Bolton Wanderers will be aiming for promotion next term. BWFC turned to former Plymouth Argyle and Stoke City boss Steven Schumacher earlier this year after sacking Ian Evatt.

The Trotters have delved into the market already to bring in striker Sam Dalby and midfielder Xavier Simons from Wrexham and Hull City respectively. They are now eyeing more new faces over the coming weeks.

Sharman-Lowe would be a shrewd acquisition for the North West club. He did well at Doncaster Rovers and looks a solid and dependable ‘keeper.
