Arsenal have moved ahead of Manchester United in their move to sign Benjamin Sesko this summer and have made a breakthrough in negotiations, according to Football Transfers.
The Gunners have been working all summer to strengthen their forward line this summer, and have been competing with Man Utd among other clubs for their top targets while trying to get a deal over the line.
But now the north London giants have made a breakthrough in their move to sign the 21-year-old RB Leipzig star, with the club now closing in on his signature.

According to a fresh report on Friday, the Bundesliga club had transfer chiefs in London for a meeting on Thursday with Arsenal in order to thrash out the terms of a deal for Sesko, who has been described as 'phenomenal'. It was their second trip to the UK in a matter of days, suggesting talks are going well.
Now Arsenal are preparing to make a formal offer early next week, and the belief is that the bid will be closer to €100m (£84m) than €80m (£68m).
The Gunners have also been in talks with Sporting CP and Viktor Gyokeres in recent days as they look to seal a new striker signing, and Manchester United have also been in the mix for his signature too.

Arsenal and Man Utd both held a meeting with the Portuguese club for the Swedish striker in recent days, with Andrea Berta also tabling an offer for the Sweden star which was rejected. It now seems that Arsenal are ready to move forward with Sesko instead, and a deal is edging closer to completion.
Man Utd have been linked with both Sesko and Gyokeres, but it's Arsenal who are in the driver's seat for both deals due to having Champions League football and more money available to get deals done.
Now a move for Sesko continues to edge closer, and Arteta is getting closer to getting his top priority position for the transfer window sewn up before pre-season even begins.

According to Record in Portugal, Sporting president Frederico Varandas said: 'One thing you should already know is me better. Threats, blackmail and insults don't work with me. 'I can guarantee that Viktor Gyökeres will not leave for €60m+10m (£51m+£8.5m) because I never promised him that. 'This game that the agent is playing only makes the situation worse. To this day, Sporting has not had an offer for Viktor Gyökeres, neither today nor last season.' Gyokeres was understood to have reached a gentleman's agreement with the Portuguese champions over a reduced asking price earlier in the season.
