Manchester United’s recruitment team have a tall order on their hands this summer, scouting vital talent to reinforce Ruben Amorim’s squad after a dismal season.

Whilst United had their worst ever run of the Premier League era, coming 15th overall, it’s actually been their worst result since being relegated in the 1973/74 season.

Now, Amorim is preparing for his first full season in charge as he hopes to rebuild the club and take them back to their former glory.

However, with the club missing out on European football, luring top talent to Old Trafford isn’t as tempting an offer as some other clubs who are set for the Champions League.

Now, The Athletic has reported that Omar Berrada isn’t concerned by the lack of European football when it comes to scouting new talent.

The club’s chief executive officer revealed that the club are only interested in signing players who want to play for United, not stars who are just looking for Champions League football.

One such player is Liam Delap, who opted to move to Chelsea over United, with Chelsea set to compete in the Champions League next season, despite United’s strong desire to make him their first-choice striker.

Berrada went on to suggest that this was an easier feat than some may think, with Matheus Cunha already arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bryan Mbeumo on the brink of moving from Brentford.

Both players have been keen for a move to Old Trafford, partly for the pride of playing for The Red Devils, the biggest club in England, but also due to Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese manager’s project to rebuild United is a massive undertaking, and being a part of the side that restored United to its former place at the top of world football is a huge lure to set them up in Manchester United history.

As such, the lure of United is still extremely strong in the eyes of Omar Berrada, so don’t be surprised to see other top stars arrive at Old Trafford this summer.
