Florian Wirtz to Liverpool finally looks like a done deal, with all outlets now reporting the same thing.

German publication Kicker, who has been spot-on for this transfer, confirmed that Florian Wirtz’s move to Liverpool is now a done deal early on Friday morning.

According to the report, all documents are currently being finalized and signed by both parties, with only the formalities of a medical examination and contract signing remaining.

Now the club’s briefing has reached the media.

It can now be confirmed that Liverpool has finalized an agreement with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Florian Wirtz for a total fee of €136.3 million (£116 million).

The deal is structured with an initial payment of €117.5 million (£100 million), supplemented by up to €18.8 million (£16 million) in performance-related add-ons.

The negotiations have been ongoing for several weeks.

Both clubs have been locked in discussions led by Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes and Leverkusen’s managing director of sport Simon Rolfes, focusing on the payment structure and the nature of the add-ons.

Despite Leverkusen’s reported €150 million (£126.4 million) asking price, Liverpool have made it clear they do not intend to go that high, and Leverkusen are also eager to avoid letting Wirtz enter the final year of his contract, which expires in 2027.

Wirtz enjoyed an outstanding 2024/25 campaign, registering 16 goals and 15 assists in 45 appearances as Leverkusen finished second in the Bundesliga and reached the Champions League round of 16.

The previous season, he was instrumental in Leverkusen’s unbeaten league title win, contributing 18 goals and 20 assists in 49 matches and earning Bundesliga Player of the Season honors.

Liverpool have already secured the services of Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen this summer, activating his €35 million release clause, as they continue to reshape their squad under manager Arne Slot.
