Luis Diaz was supported as he shared a special moment with his family. Diaz is currently enjoying a break after helping Liverpool win the Premier League title last season.
Diaz, who has the nickname of Lucho, was signed by the Reds in January 2022 from Porto and has gone on to score 41 goals in 148 appearances.
The Colombia international enjoyed his best goal scoring season during his time at Anfield during the last campaign, with 17 in all competitions including 13 in the Premier League.
Away from the pitch, Diaz has been in a relationship with Gera Ponce since 2013. The couple have two daughters together. Their youngest daughter was born on January 25 2024.
Yesterday, the couple shared the news that their daughter has been baptised. In an Instagram post, Diaz published a series of pictures from the christening.
In the caption, he said: “May God bless you always my princess.” Diaz was flooded with support by fans in the comments section.
One said: “Always humble Lucho, God bless you.” Another said: "Congratulations Lucho, God bless you with your family.” A third person commented: “Lucho, God bless you and your family, thank you for so much joy.”
Gera made her own post with the caption: “God is with you always my daughter.”
There have been various reports linking the 28-year-old with a move away from Anfield, with Barcelona in La Liga and Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League mentioned as potential destinations.
Amid the speculation, Diaz's partner posted a lengthy message on social media to Liverpool supporters. After the season finished, Gera said: "To the incredible Liverpool fans.
"From the first day we arrived, we felt first hand what it means to be a part of this club. We knew the slogan was 'You’ll Never Walk Alone', but to hear them sing it with so much passion, support each other at every moment and show such unconditional love... confirmed to us that here you never walk alone.
"This fan doesn't just support, it feels. And what you have made my boyfriend and our entire family feel is something we carry in our souls.
"Thank you for so much love, for so much dedication and for making us feel at home. Being a part of this fan is a privilege. There's no doubt: they're the best in the world. This is a real bond, deep and strong, that reaffirms that we'll never walk alone."
Gera appears to be enjoying life on Merseyside. In April, she shared a series of pictures of her and her two children on a trip to Crosby beach and Blundellsands.
Last November, she took one of her children to the Albert Dock, sharing pictures outside the food fans opposite the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
