West Ham Groundhog Day as Familiar 3 Battle for Budget Striker

Here we go again—West Ham are once more going head-to-head with former manager [David Moyes](https://www.claretandhugh.info/david-moyes-bio/) in the transfer market, and it’s starting to feel like déjà vu with every passing rumour.

This time, the player in question is Rangers’ Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane. The 22-year-old only joined the Glasgow side last summer from AS FAR in Morocco for a modest £1.7 million, but after a promising debut season, he’s already attracting interest from across Europe—and beyond.

Reports from France suggest that Ligue 1 sides, including Lille, are sniffing around as they prepare for life after Irons target Jonathan David. Meanwhile, on this side of the Channel, it’s all getting very familiar. **West Ham**, Everton and Leeds United—three clubs seemingly locked in a summer-long bidding war for the same shortlist—are all said to be monitoring the situation closely.

Igamane is reportedly available for around £13 million, a price tag that would appeal to Everton, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin on the way out. As for West Ham, it’s another case of a decent player being eyed up while we continue to move at a snails pace in the market.

Rangers are reluctant to sell but may find the profit margin too tempting to ignore. The Moroccan marksman would at least bring energy and an eye for goal to a team but I can’t help thinking we’ll need more than a ‘promising’ striker to lead the line next season.
