After Armin Pecsi, Liverpool are now set to sign another exciting young talent - journalist

Liverpool have always been a team that looks ahead to the future.

Many of their first-team squad at the moment have come through their academy and have proved their worth at every level they’ve been used in.

Players such as Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher even spent most of their careers with the Anfield outfit and became legends due to the impact they had on the club.

And, as has always been the case with Liverpool, a lot of that is due to their exceptional facilities and coaching staff, who can often get the most out of their youngsters.

The 2025-26 summer transfer window is set to be one full of change, with players such as Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pecsi already being brought to Anfield.

The moves don’t seem likely to stop there, however, as Arne Slot’s men have been linked with yet another wonderkid for the future.

Liverpool set to sign Sidy Barhama Ndiaye for £850,000

Pecsi was Slot’s second signing of the summer transfer window, with the Hungarian goalkeeper likely coming in to be the Reds’ third choice.

And now, as per a report from journalist Nabil Djellit via his personal X account, it seems like Liverpool are about to sign yet another young talent.

Sidy Barhama Ndiaye is the next player set to arrive at Liverpool, with Djellit reporting that a fee worth around €1million (£850,000) is what the Merseyside outfit are set to pay.

“Liverpool flashed during the last Under-17s Africa Cup of Nations on Sidy Barhama Ndiaye,” he wrote.

“The Senegalese winger (2009) will leave the Diambars academy to (normally) engage with Liverpool.

“The transfer is estimated at 1 M € . Things are working well in Senegal. Bravo.”

Arne Slot is building his Liverpool team for the future

Although the transfer of Florian Wirtz hasn’t been confirmed yet, it’s clear what profile of player Slot is targeting this summer.

The German is only 22 years old but is already being touted as one of the best number 10s in the world.

Others, such as Bradley Barcola and Hugo Ekitike, have also been linked with a Liverpool move, and while both of them aren’t finished products just yet, the potential they have is sky high.

Indeed, Wirtz is on a different level to the aforementioned duo, but the fact that all three are young and could potentially become world-class players in the future outlines the Dutchman’s thinking for his new arrivals this term.

Of course, only time will tell what the future holds, but at the moment, things seem to be heading in the right direction for the Merseyside outfit.
