Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has received a “promise” from the Reds that he will be sold if a certain price is met, according to reports in Spain.
Barcelona are known to be interested in securing the Colombian international’s signature this summer but they have been unwilling to pay the €80m (£68m) that Arne Slot’s side are demanding.
However, there appears to have been a new development which means that Diaz could be let go for a fee significantly below that figure.

Catalan publication Sport claim that the forward has been given a “commitment or promise” that the Reds will listen to offers if a bid is made “slightly higher than €60m (£51m)”.
What is the latest on Diaz’s future?
The 28-year-old has two years left on his contract at Anfield and there has been no progress made on an extension.
Diaz is one of the lowest-paid senior players, taking home just £55,000 a week, and he has requested a significant pay rise to reflect his importance to the team.
The Merseyside club are keen to keep hold of the Colombian but they are aware that this summer is the best chance of receiving a good fee for the player before his value begins to depreciate. Barca are, therefore, looking to take advantage of the situation.
The Liverpool star has recently spoken out about his situation
Diaz has made it clear that he would prefer to stay at the Premier League champions but he is not ruling out a move elsewhere. Speaking last week, he said:
“We are talking with other clubs. It’s normal in the transfer window and we’re looking at the best for us. If they offer us a good renewal or I stay there for the two years [of his current contract], I’ll be happy. Now it’s up to them.”
Sport report that the winger would prioritise a switch to Barcelona, rather than Saudi Arabia, if he does leave the Reds this summer.
