Tottenham Hotspur have hijacked Manchester United's advanced pursuit of Bryan Mbeumo and opened talks with Brentford over a potential transfer, according to reports. Mbeumo reportedly chose a summer move to United over Arsenal, Newcastle United and Spurs before the latter sacked Ange Postecoglou as head coach.
However, on Thursday, Brentford boss Thomas Frank was announced as Postecoglou's successor, intensifying suggestions of a potential hijack. According to Sky Sports, Tottenham have now launched initial talks with the Bees over bringing Mbeumo to North London with Frank. And it's claimed that the 25-year-old forward has grown more intrigued over the prospect of a move after his head coach's switch.
