FRISCO - Concerns have circulated about the health of Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders recent weeks. The current head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes has remained out of the public eye for some time now dealing with unspecified health issues.
This has kept him out of the first few weeks of summer activities at the university as he recovers. Fortunately, things seems to be trending up as his son provided an update this week, noting that his father his "feeling well."
Fans await more clarity on the situation but will settle on the bits of information gathered now. However, they did get something of an update when a lighthearted video was posted to Instagram this week.
Sanders' former Dallas Cowboys teammate Michael Irvin paid "Coach Prime" a visit, lifting the spirits of his friend.
"Thank you for coming to see me yesterday and boosting my spirit. Y'all already know my brother Playmaker is a fool! But I love him 2 life!" Sanders wrote in the caption of the video he reposted.
"My Bishop always said when your loved ones are dealing with any difficult issues, you must find ways to make them laugh and change their frequency," Irvin wrote. "I love you to life and forever, my brother @deionsanders."
Their friendship has a long history, dating back to their time playing together for The Star for five seasons from 1995 to 1999. Both are now Hall of Famers and entrenched in the college game with Sanders continuing his work at Colorado and Irvin a staunch supporter of his alma mater of the University of Miami (FL).
As Sanders continues his recovery, his family and friends are hoping he can make a safe and sound return to the sidelines this fall.
