Liverpool FC. Premier League winners 2024/25. Champions of England for a record-equalling 20th time. And the party hasn’t stopped yet.

‘He brought us number 20 and his name is Arne Slot’ was added to the Kop songbook and now Kopites can read all about it in LFC 20 - Every Game, Every Goal - a comprehensive official review of the season written by former Liverpool ECHO writer Chris McLoughlin.

Featuring every key moment, LFC 20 is the story of a glorious campaign told through all 38 match reports that capture the moods and emotions along the way as well as the incidents, talking points and stats.

It also includes game-by-game analysis from Reds head coach Arne Slot, pundits and the press - including the ECHO’s Ian Doyle and Paul Gorst - plus end-of-season reaction from the players.

This official souvenir magazine, a must-have keepsake for every Liverpool FC supporter, is available from Reach Sport, and Chris has picked out five extracts from the 116-page, 30,000-word magazine to share with ECHO readers…

Manchester United 0-3 Liverpool

‘As they slept the night before the biggest clash in English football, Manchester United fans would have been forgiven for waking up in cold sweat with Mo Salah on their minds.

The Egyptian went into this fixture having scored 14 goals in 15 appearances against United including 11 in the Premier League – the most in the competition’s history – and a club/league record six at Old Trafford, including a hat-trick in a 5-0 win in 2021.

Salah also got two in Liverpool’s 7-0 thrashing of their rivals at Anfield in 2023 and another goal in this game would make Old Trafford the first away stadium any Red had scored at in seven consecutive appearances.

So when his goal came the only surprise was that it took Salah 56 minutes…’

Liverpool 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion

‘Gakpo also curled a shot narrowly wide but it felt like the dam was about to burst and it soon did. Gakpo cut inside again and clipped in a cross that was intended for Nunez, but evaded everyone and bounced into the net with Verbruggen rooted to his line.

All of a sudden the Anfield whirlpool that has swallowed so many opponents over the years had Brighton by the ankles.

Before they knew it, Curtis Jones had driven forward, exchanged passes with fellow substitute Luis Diaz, and slipped a pass to Salah, who cut past Estupinan and smashed an unstoppable left-footed effort in at the Kop net…’

Liverpool 2-0 Manchester City

‘From the first whistle they tore into Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City like a pack of red-clad Tasmanian Devils in a field full of wallabies. The Cityzens simply had no answer. They were devoured. Taken apart. The 2-0 scoreline flattered them.

City arrived on the back of three consecutive Premier League defeats – five in all competitions – and with all the evidence suggesting losing Ballon d’Or winner Rodri to an ACL injury was the equivalent of taking the SIM card out of a smartphone.

When a rival is going through a tricky time, making the most of it is paramount if you’ve got serious designs on taking their crown and that’s precisely what Liverpool did. It may only have been the first day of December, but it felt like a changing of the guard…’

Liverpool 1-0 Everton

‘Liverpool shifted up a gear after the interval and had a flurry of chances. Pickford pushed Gravenberch’s shot out before Mac Allister, Jota and Diaz had efforts blocked. The pressure was mounting and in the 57th minute came the decisive moment.

Jota tackled James Garner on the edge of the Everton box, Diaz backheeled the ball into his path and Jota slalomed past three Blues defenders like they were flags on the slopes of Lillehammer before slotting the ball back across Pickford, into the Kop net.

Everton wanted an offside against Diaz, but he was off in a previous phase of play when he didn’t attempt to get the ball. The goal stood and the ‘Oh he wears the number 20’ Jota song rang around Anfield louder than it has ever done before…’

Liverpool 5-1 Tottenham Hotspur

‘Anfield was a sea of red, just like Virgil van Dijk had requested. “Come in red or come with all red,” said the skipper after signing his new contract. “Make it a red Anfield because that would look incredible.”

He was right. It looked a picture for Liverpool FC’s title-winning day. Outside, rivers of red flowed round the streets of Anfield Road. Today was the day.

An estimated 120,000 LFC supporters were reportedly in the Anfield vicinity. Arne Slot’s men still needed a point to claim a 20th league title. It felt like they already had.

Those with a precious ticket for Liverpool v Spurs came to make Anfield vibrant. Those who didn’t came for the party. And WHAT a party it was…’
