Earlier this spring, reports surfaced suggesting the two-time MVP might consider exploring options outside Milwaukee. But according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the NBA world is now aligned on the situation.
“There’s not going to be a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade in the short-term future,” Windhorst said on ESPN’s Get Up. “The league has come to terms with the realization that the Bucks are going to keep him and Giannis is not going to ask for a trade. I can’t speak for what might happen in August.”
Although there have been no public updates about direct conversations between Giannis and the Bucks’ front office, the organization continues to act with confidence that their franchise cornerstone remains committed.
Milwaukee plans to reshape the roster around Antetokounmpo in an effort to return to title contention.
On the court, Giannis continues to perform at an elite level. He averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, and 1.2 blocks this past season, finishing third in MVP voting.
