Bucs ILB Anthony Walker.

New Bucs inside linebacker Anthony Walker has been on playoff teams before with Indianapolis and Cleveland. So he knows what good is.

So what is good in Walker’s eyes? The Bucs’ organization.

Naturally, Walker was tipped off by his old friend Lavonte David about the Bucs. It’s a big reason why Walker is here. So the Bucs’ culture really isn’t a surprise to him.

What Walker found out when he arrived at One Buc Palace, was the Bucs culture in the building is the best he’s ever experienced.

> “I’ve been on some really good teams,” Walker said yesterday. “I love the way they do things here from top to bottom.

>

> “All the guys, the coaches, the offensive coaches, defensive coaches – it’s a real family-organization here. I’m excited to be here.”

How impressed is Walker? He doesn’t want to play for any other organization. When he hangs up his cleats for good, Walker hopes the Bucs are his final team.

> “I told Lavonte I want to finish my career here so I’m excited to just join it and play my role in helping this team win,” Walker said.

Another cool thing about Walker, he said he wants to be an NFL coach. Last year with the Dolphins, he joined the staff of his old high school Monsignor Pace and became the school’s defensive coordinator.

Walker knew the right people there. His dad, Anthony Walker, Sr. is the head coach. So each day after Dolphins’ practice, Walker, a Northwestern grad, had to race to his old high school and help run practice.

Walker admitted that was kind of tough, practicing for his NFL team and then minutes later, coaching a high school defense. But to Joe, that just demonstrates his devotion to the game.

Something tells Joe that Walker will be a really good glue guy in the locker room.
