Liverpool's concert season is in full swing with international stars performing across the city. With a number of shows held in Anfield Stadium and Pier Head, the last thing fans need is poor weather.
Anfield Stadium and On The Waterfront are both open air venues therefore susceptible to adverse weather conditions. Some parts of Anfield are luckily sheltered by the stadium's roof while On The Waterfront has no such luxury to fall back on.
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to hit the region this weekend, with up to 8cm of rainfall in parts and "strong gusts" of wind and hail forecast. The Met Office has warned the weather may "lead to some disruption" across Merseyside.
Although the weather is expected to pick up for On The Waterfront, which takes place from June 19 - June 22, with warm and dry spells of more than 20C, it's still worth knowing what to do in case of a sudden storm.

If the riverside festival turns gloomy, you can find solace in the fact you are allowed to bring a small umbrella into the festival grounds - unlike most concerts. Larger and golfing umbrellas are not permitted.

Because of the festival's Pier Head location, there are extremely few places to hide from the rain. A coat will be handy just in case.

Only small umbrellas are allowed in to the stadium, however these cannot be used once inside, meaning you won't be able to use them in the standing area or at your seat.
Anfield's higher tier seats are covered by the stadium's roof, mostly preventing guests from getting wet. You might have to endure the weather if you are standing or close to the floor.
Can you receive a refund if it rains?

Ticketmaster can only offer refunds or exchanges if an event has been cancelled or rescheduled, meaning bad weather won't get you your money back.

Refunds from On The Waterfront are only available should the event be cancelled, there is a material alteration to the event or if the event has been re-scheduled and you have notified the promoter that you cannot attend the re-scheduled date within the time frame set out in the announcement made by the promoter of the re-scheduled date. On The Waterfront does not deem adverse weather conditions to be a material alteration and therefore will not issue a refund if it rains.
Anfield Stadium does not offer any exchanges or refunds if the event is going ahead on the date originally planned. If an event is cancelled in full (and not rescheduled), your order will be cancelled and you will be entitled to a refund (booking admin fees are non-refundable).
