After lifting their second-ever Premier League title last season under new manager Arne Slot, Liverpool are wasting no time going all-in for a third.

Despite losing boyhood hero Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid, the Reds are doing more than enough to replace him — and strengthen their squad across the pitch.

The club has already completed the signing of Jeremie Frimpong, widely regarded as one of the best right-backs in world football, from Bayer Leverkusen as a direct replacement for Trent. The Reds are also closing in on left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, and Frimpong’s former Leverkusen teammate, Florian Wirtz.

Wirtz is expected to become Liverpool’s record signing at a fee potentially reaching £116 million. Based on his recent performances, though, he looks worth every penny. A diminutive yet technically brilliant playmaker with a keen eye for goal, Wirtz played a pivotal role in helping Bayer Leverkusen win their first-ever Bundesliga title in 2023/24. Though they couldn’t repeat the feat last season, he remained one of the Bundesliga’s standout stars.

Manchester City star — and Wirtz’s Germany teammate — Ilkay Gündoğan is among his many admirers, recently stating that Wirtz “could be the best in the world in a short amount of time.”

Liverpool’s transfer business doesn’t appear to be done just yet.

According to a new report from GIVEMESPORT, club officials recently held an internal meeting to discuss a surprise move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

The Nigeria international spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, where he exploded for 37 goals in all competitions. Despite that prolific form, his relationship with Napoli is reportedly beyond repair, meaning a permanent departure this summer seems inevitable.

Chelsea, Manchester United, and several Saudi Arabian clubs are circling, and GIVEMESPORT claims Liverpool are now among the suitors as they look to sign a proven, world-class No. 9.

However, finances could prove a major obstacle. Osimhen recently turned down a staggering £650,000-a-week offer from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal, suggesting his wage demands remain sky-high — the same issue that led Chelsea to pull out of a deal last summer.

Unless the 25-year-old is willing to prioritize trophies over money, Liverpool may have to look elsewhere in their search for a new goal-scoring talisman.
