A New York Giants fan is going viral after her tattoo of a naked Jason Kelce on her arm was recently posted online.
Lauren Matarese-Philpott got a pin-up style tattoo of Jason Kelce naked on her right forearm about two years ago, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. It is now receiving a ton of attention, including from Kelce himself.
You can check out the tattoo below:
Jason Kelce quote Tweeted the artwork with the caption: "I’m not sure if I should be offended or flattered."
Meanwhile on TikTok, Jason’s wife Kylie posted: “Excuse me???” underneath a video of the tattoo. She also replied to a comment asking what Kylie thought about the tattoo with the caption: “Kylie doesn’t even know where to start.”
So how did the tattoo come about? According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Lauren Matarese-Philpott and her husband Danny Philpott love to make bets. Lauren is a diehard Giants fan, while Danny is an Eagles fan.
The Inquirer reports that they started off making bets involving wearing clothing or singing songs about the other’s team, before eventually going all the way to getting tattoos.
When the Eagles hosted the Giants during the 2022 season -- on Jan. 8, 2023 -- the bet was reportedly that if the Giants won, Danny would get an Eli Manning tattoo on his butt. However, if the Eagles won, Lauren had to get a Jason Kelce tattoo.
The Eagles trailed 19-0 at one point and fought back to make things interesting, before falling 22-16.
While the only rule was that Lauren had to get a Kelce tattoo, her tattoo artist Joe Moreira decided to spice it up a bit.
“She just told me, ‘Here’s the spot, I want a Jason Kelce traditional, go crazy with it,’” Moreira told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “And you know, that’s really all I needed to do for the tattoo. I think he did a photo shoot where he wore like an Eagles’ codpiece, and that was the inspiration for that, if I’m not mistaken.”
Lauren Matarese-Philpott has about 60 tattoos on her body, according to the Inquirer, including Gardner Minshew’s mustache tattooed above her knee from another lost bet.
While she admits that she should stop making bets, she also shared that she doesn’t plan on doing so.
“I should probably stop making these bets,” Matarese-Philpott told the Philadelphia Inquirer. “But then again, when it comes to tattoos, I’m all about gathering art. When I find an artist like Joe, I like their work, and it’s sort of like I’m a billboard for them. And I will never back out of a bet.”
While Lauren is a Giants fan, she is also a fan of Kelce’s and is glad that he finally saw the tattoo.
“I thought it was really cool that he finally got to see it, and he can see that even people that aren’t Eagles fans can love and appreciate him,” she told the Inquirer. “At the end of the day, he’s an amazing person. He’s an amazing father, and just an all-around good guy.”
