Everton have just been hit with a major transfer twist in the pursuit of a new striker.
David Moyes wants to see improvements made over the summer when it comes to his attacking options.
The reality is Everton need additions across their entire squad, but adding goals is going to be a major factor over the coming months.
Despite the window only being open for 10 days so far, the Blues have already experienced some issues.
Everton lost out on Liam Delap to Chelsea with the young striker lured to West London by the prospect of Champions League football.
It was a deal which was all but concluded before the window even officially opened as Everton crossed one name off their shortlist.
However, Chelsea are looking to strike again and steal another striker from Everton’s wishlist this summer.

Chelsea open talks with Everton target Nick Woltemade
Everton are keen to sign Nick Woltemade this summer after an impressive season in the Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
There will now be even more frustration on Merseyside as the Blues have seen an unexpected development in the pursuit of the young German.
According to Christian Falk, Chelsea have now opened talks with the Bundesliga outfit to land another promising striker.
It is not just Chelsea who are showing interest in Woltemade with Atletico Madrid also believed to have the German on their radar.
The early talks to be held between Chelsea and Stuttgart are believed to only be of an exploratory nature.
This will be a real blow on Merseyside as Everton are prioritising a new striker signing this summer.
Losing out on Delap may have been expected, but this will certainly come as a real surprise to those at Finch Farm.
Everton were told Woltemade wouldn’t leave Stuttgart
In recent days, Everton thought they had been handed a blow in the race for the Germany international.
Everton were told Woltemade would not leave Stuttgart this summer as he did not want to jeopardise his spot in the national side.
Fast forward a couple of days and Everton have now seen that suggestion thrown into doubt as Chelsea have opened talks to sign him.
Whether the talks amount to anything is another matter but it is one Everton will surely be keeping an eye on.
