Marcus Rashford has sent a clear message to Manchester United's head coach Ruben Amorim about his commitment to training amid ongoing speculation about his future.
Rashford was left out of the squad that triumphed in the Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium in December, after Amorim was reportedly dissatisfied with his performance in training. Alejandro Garnacho also faced this treatment but returned for the next match, while Rashford remained absent.
Indeed, Rashford didn't play another minute under Amorim and was loaned to Unai Emery's Aston Villa in the January transfer window. When questioned about Rashford's omission, the Portuguese head coach hinted that the winger wasn't meeting the required standards in training.
MEN Sport reports that Rashford is among the players United are looking to offload permanently this summer, as they see little chance of him rejoining the first team. His stint at Aston Villa was cut short by a season-ending injury, but the 27 year old has been working hard to regain his fitness ahead of pre-season.
In an effort to demonstrate his dedication and track his progress, Rashford has been posting updates from his intensive training camps on social media. On Thursday night, he shared his demanding schedule, perhaps aiming to counter the narrative put forward by Amorim earlier in the year, reports [the Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/marcus-rashford-sends-clear-message-31848682).
Between Monday, June 9 and Sunday, June 22, Rashford claims to be having just three days off where he is not training in some capacity. Nine days will see Rashford working in the gym and on the pitch while two further days will be focused solely in the gym.
He would then go on to share a video of himself completing a rope climb in sweltering conditions. While a return to United in a playing capacity is unlikely, Rashford is perhaps doing this gruelling regime to prove his fitness to La Liga giants Barcelona.
Barca have publicly stated that they would be interested in signing Rashford this summer for the right price. Villa had agreed a £40m option to buy clause in January but that is unlikely to be activated.
