Arsenal set sights on Juventus star after Nico Williams blow

Arsenal are targeting Juventus winger Kenan Yıldız as a potential replacement for Nico Williams, with the club’s new technical staff playing a key role in the pursuit.

Yıldız, 20, had an impressive 2024-25 season, scoring ten goals and providing six assists across all competitions. He’s seen as a more affordable and flexible option compared to Williams, whose reported high wage demand exceeds Arsenal’s salary structure.

Arsenal are ready to spend up to £60 million on Yıldız, while Juventus would prefer a fee closer to €100 million for a player under contract until 2029.

The driving force behind Arsenal’s interest in Yıldız is Matteo Tognozzi, the scout credited with discovering the player during his time at Juventus.

Tognozzi is set to join Arsenal, working alongside sporting director Andrea Berta, which gives the club confidence in securing the forward.

Mikel Arteta is keen on adding versatility and youth to his front line, and Yıldız fits the bill. Standing at 1.87m, Yıldız is a versatile attacker capable of playing on either wing, as a No.10, or even as a centre-forward. He is comfortable with both feet and suits Arteta’s possession-based, multi-dimensional system.

Other clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea, have previously shown interest in Yıldız, but Arsenal appears to be the most active. With his impressive performances and potential, Yıldız could be a valuable addition to the Arsenal squad.

Yıldız’s breakout season included a memorable Champions League debut goal and a standout Serie A campaign that earned him a spot in the 2024-25 Team of the Season and Serie A’s Goal of the Month in January 2025.
