Steelers Ex First-Round Pick Shocks Fans in Viral Photo with Body Change

The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Georgia offensive tackle Broderick Jones with the 14th overall pick in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, but his first two seasons have not panned out like he would have hoped.

But the team will be hoping that he can break out in his third season.

Alex Kozora of Steelers Depot recently posted two photos of Jones. One of them was from last offseason, and one of them was just taken. And the difference between the two pictures is apparent to fans who seem shocked … in a good way.

The Steelers tackle was weighed in at 325 pounds this past season, which is much different from his reported weight of around 305 pounds now. This will help him tremendously when it comes to contributing in the team's offensive scheme.

Pittsburgh runs a wide zone offense, which means that their offensive linemen need to be able to move. Now that Jones has lost some weight, he should be lighter on his feet.

Jones was with the Bulldogs for three season, two of which he was able to help the team win a National Championship. So we know that he can get the job done, because those Georgia teams were no joke.

The Steelers have made the playoffs four of the last five seasons, so Jones breaking out could help lead the team to their third straight postseason appearance. The team lost their starting running back in Najee Harris this offseason, so they will need Jones to help the team make do with what they have.
