This week, the San Antonio Spurs jumped to the top of the list as the odds-on favorites to acquire Durant, but other teams are in contention, too.
The Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, and others are apparently intrigued by the prospect of getting Durant.
It sounds like we will know who the lucky team is very soon, because the Suns want to get moving.
Between a long offseason and the upcoming draft, they have a lot on their plate.
The Suns are allegedly trying to do two things at once: they want to build a strong roster around Devin Booker, but they don’t want to go into a full rebuild mode.
Through the Durant trade, they hope to acquire enough assets to become competitive immediately while also laying the groundwork for a bright future.
Do the Spurs have everything the Suns want, and will they remain favorites to get Durant?
In just a few days, all the rumors and speculation will come to an end, and the truth will come out.
Where is Durant going?
Everyone will know the answer to that soon.
