Aston Villa are planning to turn down any offers for Morgan Rogers this summer as they do not want to lose him, according to their former chief scout.
Mick Brown, who also worked as the chief scout for the likes of Man United and Blackburn and remains very well-connected at his former clubs, exclusively told Football Insider that Unai Emery is “confident” of keeping the 22-year-old beyond the transfer window.
The midfielder’s involvement in Thomas Tuchel’s England plans have heightened attention on his displays, while financial concerns have led to suggestions of an exodus at Villa Park.
This comes after Football Insider revealed Aston Villa will accept offers for key players such as Ollie Watkins as they attempt to balance the books.
Despite that, there is a belief that there are other sellable assets at the club who are more likely to leave than Rogers as things stand.
However, Football Insider revealed on 25 May that Villa will not entertain offers for Rogers despite interest from Man City and Liverpool.

Aston Villa respond to Arsenal interest in Morgan Rogers
Brown told Football Insider that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Rogers’ situation in case Villa are forced to sell due to their ongoing PSR concerns.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that despite the player’s recent international recognition, he is unlikely to leave Villa Park.
“Aston Villa want to keep hold of Rogers,” he told Football Insider.
“I’m not surprised the top clubs are looking at him, because he’s been excellent.
“Having been called up by England and featuring heavily for them, it always increases the eyes on his performances and the clubs who are interested.
“His profile and the level of interest in him has gone up.
“Ultimately, though, he got into the team through his performances for Villa.
“They’re confident they can keep hold of him, even with these financial issues they’ve got.
“He plays such a key role in Unai Emery’s team, I don’t think he or they have any interest in letting him go any time soon.
“There are plenty of other players they could sell before they look at him.”

Emiliano Martinez update emerges at Villa Park
Rogers is not the only Villa star being linked with a move away this summer, amid growing speculation about the future of Emiliano Martinez.
Football Insider revealed on 4 June that Villa are eyeing two new goalkeepers to replace Martinez as they plan to rebuild their goalkeeping department.
It is believed Martinez, 32, has interest in England, Spain and in the Saudi Pro League and is inching towards the exit door early in the summer window.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider that Martinez’s camp are pushing to leave Aston Villa amid interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.
