Manchester United could ‘reignite their interest’ in buying one of Matheus Cunha’s Brazil teammates after the player’s departure could be ‘sanctioned,’ according to stunning reports.
Matheus Cunha’s transfer to Manchester United was officially completed on Thursday after the Red Devils triggered his £62.5m release clause earlier this month.
United were linked with Cunha in recent months and the 26-year-old Brazil international was in Manchester over the weekend to complete his medical.

The deal between Wolves and Red Devils was announced earlier this month, but Cunha’s move to United was subject to visa approval and registration procedures.
Cunha inked a five-year deal with United and will now link up with his new Red Devils teammates ahead of the Premier League club’s pre-season tour in July.
The former Wolves ace has been away on international duty with Brazil in June and Cunha impressed United fans with his performance against Paraguay on Wednesday.

Could Matheus Cunha cross paths with Brazil teammate Douglas Luiz at Man Utd after Juventus are ready to sell the player?
Manchester United have been linked with Douglas Luiz in the past and Juventus are now believed to be open to selling the midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Douglas Luiz had been tipped to leave Juventus in recent months and the 27-year-old Brazilian has been at the Old Lady since 2024 after his exit from Aston Villa.
Juventus signed Luiz from Aston Villa in a £42.35m deal in the 2024 January transfer window and the Brazil international is under contract with the club until 2029.
The former Villa star has played 26 matches for the Serie A outfit since his transfer and Luiz has not scored once or registered an assist for his current side.
According to GiveMeSport, Juventus have now dropped ‘indications’ that they would be ‘prepared’ to let Luiz leave once the summer transfer window reopens next week.

Man Utd’s position over potential Douglas Luiz transfer strengthened amid Juventus’ situation around Matheus Cunha’s Brazil teammate
GiveMeSport added that Juventus would be willing to ‘entertain offers as low as’ a potential £30m transfer fee to offload Douglas Luiz from the Allianz Stadium.
It is believed that the Serie A club want to take Matheus Cunha’s Brazil teammate ‘off their books’ and need the funds to improve their squad options.
It is believed that Juventus ‘have not made a final decision’ over loaning Luiz out instead of selling him, but United could be in a strong position to sign him.
However, GiveMeSport suggested that Juventus are currently ‘open to selling him to Manchester United’ or could move him to ‘another admirer’ for a discounted price.
