Paul Pogba’s fall from the top of world football has been both dramatic and unfortunate, with the former Manchester United star enduring one blow after another in recent years.
After returning to Juventus in 2022, many hoped the midfielder would rediscover the form that made him one of the most exciting talents of his generation during his first spell in Turin.
Instead, Pogba was plagued by persistent injuries and setbacks.
He managed just a handful of appearances across two seasons.
His hopes of bouncing back were then shattered when he tested positive for the banned substance DHEA in August 2023, leading to a four-year doping ban that was later reduced.
Thus, allowing him to return to action in March 2025.

Since then, the 2018 World Cup winner has been biding his time, keeping fit and weighing up the right move to reignite what remains of his career at the highest level.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano on X, Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have offered Paul Pogba a two-year contract.
They are currently in active talks to bring him to the Stade Louis II.
Negotiations are expected to continue over the weekend, as per Romano.
Discussions said to not only be focused on terms, but also the club’s long-term project and Pogba’s role in it.
Monaco are hoping to make a statement this summer as they aim to strengthen their midfield with proven experience.
For Pogba, it represents a chance to return to his home country and compete at a high level.
While staying close to family and avoiding the scrutiny of more intense markets.

Although Paul Pogba has also been linked with a move to the United States and even a return to Marseille, Monaco now look to be in pole position.
Especially with financial terms appearing more viable.
There were even fleeting rumours in April about a romantic return to Manchester United, but those were quickly dismissed.
At 32, Pogba knows this could be his final big opportunity to remind the world of the immense quality that once saw him dominate midfields in England, Italy, and on the international stage.
Should the deal be finalised, Monaco would be banking on one of French football’s lost stars rediscovering his best form – before it’s too late.
