King’s Lynn officially sign son of former Manchester United midfielder

National League North team King’s Lynn have officially recruited a new goalkeeper ready for next season’s campaign in the form of the son of a Manchester United midfielder.

The Linnetts are looking to improve on their sixth place finish from last year and in a bid to do so have signed Louis Chadwick from Cambridge United.

The 22-year-old came through the Cambridge Town academy however has spent most of the last three seasons out on loan.

Now after his contract came to an end, King’s Lynn have snapped up Chadwick, who’s father, Luke Chadwick played for United between 1999 and 2004, with a handful of loans with Royal Antwerp, Reading and Burnley.

The former attacking midfielder won two Premier League titles while at Old Trafford and then had stints with West Ham, Norwich, Stoke, MK Dons and Cambridge United.

Now, his son Louis is set for a stint with Kings Lynn as the club have taken to their website, announcing: “The Club are delighted to announce the signing of 22-year-old goalkeeper Louis Chadwick from Cambridge United.

“The young shot-stopper joins us on a permanent deal from the Cambridgeshire side.

“On joining us, Louis told us: “Yeah it’s great to have that experience around the first team at Cambridge.”

“…and carried on: ‘I’m really looking forward to meeting the rest of the lads for pre-season and working with them all.’

“Welcome to the Linnets, Louis!”

Now, King’s Lynn are hoping to fight for promotion to the National League next season as the club currently sit in the sixth tier of English football.
