Ruben Amorim now told Man Utd will be shut out of transfer if‘price isn’t right’for fast-rising former PSG striker

Manchester United will face a tall order trying to bring one emerging 22-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain talent to Old Trafford for Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.

Ruben Amorim will begin to lay the foundations for his Manchester United first-team squad overhaul ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League campaign at Old Trafford.

The 40-year-old United manager inherited the Red Devils squad from Erik ten Hag last November after he left Sporting CP during the 2024-25 season.

Amorim did see additions to his United squad in the January transfer window after Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven were signed from Lecce and Arsenal respectively.

However, the former Sporting CP manager is expected to have a bigger clearout at Old Trafford this summer, including adding new players to his ranks for next season.

The Red Devils wasted no time and already made their first major summer signing this month, with United landing Matheus Cunha from Wolves for a £62.5m fee.

The French talent spent time on loan at Eintracht Frankfurt in February 2024 after Paris Saint-Germain loaned him out and the German side had an option to buy him.

Ekitike impressed during his time at the Deutsche Bank Park and Eintracht Frankfurt made the decision to sign the 22-year-old striker for a £14.1m (€16.5m) fee.

The former PSG player’s permanent move was completed in April 2024 and Ekitike has continued to attract interest amid his development at Eintracht Frankfurt.

However, Eintracht Frankfurt CEO Markus Krosche has now insisted that the Bundesliga outfit will play hardball over talks to sign Ekitike from the club.

“If the price isn’t right, then he’ll just stay with us,” he told Wiesbadener Kurier, as per Sky Sport Germany.

“We don’t have to sell Hugo.”

How much would Eintracht Frankfurt starlet Hugo Ekitike cost Man Utd in a summer transfer?

Hugo Ekitike scored an impressive 22 times and registered 12 assists in 48 matches across all competitions for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2024-25 campaign.

United are not the only club interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt’s Ekitike, with Premier League clubs Chelsea and Liverpool both linked with the former PSG striker.

However, Ekitike’s contract at the Deutsche Bank Park runs until 2029 and the French talent won’t come cheap amid the remarks from club CEO Markus Krosche.

According to Bild in April, Eintracht Frankfurt would be demanding a transfer fee of around £86.3m (€100m) for any club looking to sign Ekitike this summer.
