Tyrese Haliburton and Caitlin Clark are redefining what it means to be the face of Indiana basketball, and they're doing it together.
In a recent interview with ESPN, Haliburton revealed that he and Clark, along with their significant others, are in near-constant contact via a four-person group chat.
"We're talking 24/7," said the 25-year-old Pacers star, who's in the middle of his first NBA Finals run as his team takes on the Oklahoma City Thunder. "The four of us hang out all the time."
That off-court bond reflects what's happening on the hardwood, too. Haliburton has led the Pacers back to the NBA spotlight, and Clark-arguably the most high-profile athlete in the WNBA-has rejuvenated the Indiana Fever fanbase with her rookie season. The pair have become fixtures at each other's games and supporters of each other's grind.
Still, Haliburton acknowledged Clark faces pressure on another level.
"There's a lot of weight and eyes on her," he said. "Obviously there is on me as well, but hers are amplified times a million."
Clark, 23, has been dating former Iowa basketball player Connor McCaffery since 2023, while Haliburton has been with Jade Jones since college. They go on regular double dates, and yes, they share game reactions, too.
Clark even filmed herself reacting to Haliburton's clutch plays and sent the video, full of expletives and excitement, to their group chat. Haliburton laughed about it: "She was going crazy."
Beyond the friendship and fun, both stars share a deep connection with the Indiana community and a vision for the future.
"Ty and I would both tell you this is where we hope to stay the rest of our careers," Clark said. "These people⦠this is what means the world to them."
With Finals games returning to Indiana for the first time in 25 years and WNBA arenas packed to see Clark play, the state is experiencing a basketball renaissance. And its two brightest stars are building something bigger than a stat sheet-they're building a legacy.
"We love it here," Haliburton said. On and off the court, it shows.
