Television shows, especially animated ones, are typically a surefire escape from real life. But Adult Swim's new project, Keeping Up With The Joneses, will turn screens across the country into an all-too-real reflection of life in Dallas.

The forthcoming cartoon was announced this week at Annecy Festival, an annual animation conference in Paris.

The show is a half-hour adult animated comedy set to run for 10 episodes. It follows the Newberry family as they try to keep up with Dallas' ultra-rich, including their next-door neighbor, Jerry Jones.

Adult Swim regular Hugh Davidson, known for his work on the network's shows like Mike Tyson Mysteries and Robot Chicken, collaborated with his wife, Rachel Ramras, for the new project. The couple previously wrote and starred in Nobodies, a short-lived sitcom alongside actor Larry Dorf, who is set to work with them again on Keeping Up With The Joneses.

Keeping Up With The Joneses is already looking pretty accurate, we'd say.

Though no further casting or premiere details have been announced so far, Adult Swim has given us a glimpse of the series. A still image from the show features a family (complete with a young girl eating chips and a man on his phone) in church — already a biblically accurate representation of Dallas in every sense.

Of course, Dallas is as good a backdrop as any to poke at the 1%. Earlier this year, Forbes tallied 34 billionaires living in the North Texas area, including Jones.

So, if Adult Swim has yet to finish writing the show, might we offer some insider info about the upper class in the area? Like this list of the best places in the city to meet a millionaire husband, or this tour of a former MLB all-star's massive home for sale. And given the success of the beloved North Texas-inspired*King of the Hill*, it's clear there's no shortage of interesting material around here. We hope Adult Swim knows where to find it.
