Liverpool are reportedly close to agreeing a new four-year deal with one of the club’s defenders.

It’s been a few good weeks for Liverpool fans. The club ended the 2024/25 season as Premier League champions but didn’t waste time going straight into business ahead of the upcoming season.

Arne Slot’s side have already set out to make their title-winning squad better, with the official additions of Jeremie Frimpong and Armin Pesci.

There are still plans to bring in Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz, whose deal has been verbally agreed between Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen.

The Reds do not plan to rest on those additions.

DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed that there is a plan to sign a new striker after Darwin Nunez is allowed to leave Anfield this summer.

Elsewhere, Liverpool are also looking to tie down some of their players to new deals.

Conor Bradley recently signed a new long-term deal, and Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate are in talks to sign new deals.

Konate is reportedly attracting interest from PSG and Real Madrid, who are looking to snap him up for free if he runs down his Liverpool contract.

The Reds are desperate to avoid such a situation and will look to sort out Konate’s future before the summer transfer window closes.

Apart from the senior players, the club is also locked in negotiations with some of Liverpool’s young players, who are attracting serious interest from rival clubs.

One such player is defender Wellity Lucky.

Liverpool is aware that the 19-year-old is attracting interest from rival clubs and has offered him a new deal to forestall his departure.

According to Fabrizio Romano’s recent update, the Reds are close to reaching an agreement on a new four-year deal.

This move arrives at a critical juncture, with Lucky’s current contract set to expire this summer.

It’s clear that Liverpool values him and considers him a part of the club’s future.

Born in Zaragoza to Nigerian parents, the 19-year-old has been with the Reds since joining at U13 level. Over the years, he has emerged as one of the standout performers in the academy system.

After signing his first professional contract in April 2023, Lucky continued to impress this season with the U21s in Premier League 2 and the U19s in the UEFA Youth League.

Lucky was called up to train with the senior team ahead of a Champions League tie with PSV Eindhoven, a testament to the confidence Slot and his staff have in the youngster’s potential.

His technical ability, positional intelligence, and calmness under pressure have drawn praise from club insiders.
